RUT tax deduction

With the RUT deduction, you can get up to a 50 per cent deduction on labour costs when moving. This makes it easier and cheaper to hire help with packing, carrying or transport – both for individuals and businesses.

Frequently asked questions about RUT deductions

Can I combine RUT for moving and cleaning in the same year?2026-03-13T11:39:50+01:00

Yes, as long as you stay within the SEK 75,000 ceiling (ROT + RUT).

Does the deduction apply to business relocations?2026-03-13T11:38:34+01:00

No. RUT is a tax reduction for private individuals. However, companies can deduct the cost as a regular service but do not receive any special deduction.

Do I get RUT for storage?2026-03-13T11:38:18+01:00

Only the transport to and from the warehouse is deductible, not the rent itself – and only if the storage takes place directly in connection with the move.

Do I have to pay the full amount?2026-03-13T11:37:12+01:00

No, the deduction is deducted from your invoice directly. You only pay the net amount.
